Our group was originally formed with the intention of sharing information on the electro-diesels as well as preserving examples
of a JA and JB when it seemed likely that few if any examples of the class 73s would survive.
In 1997 we were the first group to secure a JA when we acquired E6003 Sir Herbert Walker from EWS when that company
decided that the JAs were surplus to requirements. Other members of our group have secured a JB privately.
Our efforts are now focused on the operation of E6003 at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway.
To join the EDLG you must own a 'share' in E6003. Each share represents a contribution of £100 to the
groups funds and we work on the basis of one member one vote for all but the most important decisions.
